Weekend Seminar December 4th &5th 2010 (location pending)Wantagh, NY

Fusion Dog Training- Tools and Methods for the Modern Dog Trainer Hands On

This is a hands on weekend seminar for Trainers that starts Saturday mornning at 10 am, watching a regular group class (average pet owners, not dog trainers) )where off leash training is encouraged. There will be people using remote collars, some prong collars, and food or toys with their dogs. Most importantly, they'll use more than one method for almost all advanced training. There's often friendly dogs, scared dogs, and aggressive dogs in the group.

After the Group class we will jump right into hands on training with Dogs. This is not a sit and listen to someone talk seminar. This is over 80% hands on, doing the physical work that is a dog trainers life for 2 days. Please bring a dog.. or three. Bring a clients dog you haven't had any breakthroughs with. We'll help you. On Saturday night at dinner, and a Sunday Discussion session, we can answer more questions and discuss the training theory AFTER everyone has done it.

The purpose of the seminar for Dog Trainers is to take a step twordes better education start uniting the profession. Many trainers are taught "this is the only way to train", and have difficulty getting out of that. Ususally, the method and techniques they were taught is a valid and perfectly good method, but so are the others. In Fact, over the years we have seen dogs trained with a few methods at once are usually the best trained. If you are a clicker trainer who's never used a remote collar, or a remote collar trainer who's never used a clicker, come experience a hands on difference. It will improve your professional abilities, your demo dog, help you grow your business, and chances are, you'll make a few friends while you're here.

We will expand on the following:

  • An overview of 4 different remote collar methods.
  • Where does traditional leash training come into play.
  • How clickers and collars live in training harmony.
  • Goal-oriented training vs. method oriented training.
  • Using a reward system from the dogs point of view
  • What is your dog training company's identity and how does it impact your finances?
  • Top 3 business mistakes professional trainers make that cost them over a thousand dollars a month.

Prerequsite: we will verify you are currently a professional Dog Trainer.

Cost $350
